The joy of the Lord is an integral part of the essence of God. Joy, which produces laughter, is a core value of the nature of God. Joy is a by-product of the presence of God in our lives. Matthew 24:21-23 shows us that joy is an eternal state of bliss, not an emotion. We receive this state by interaction and relationship with God. As believers and joint heirs with Jesus, we should be the happiest people on earth.
