Lauren’s Story – Testimony of Impartation & Tongues

Lauren’s Story – Testimony of Impartation & Tongues

At the beginning of  March we ministered in Bumpass, VA to an amazing group of youth and young adults. We knew the Lord had spoken, telling us to do an impartation night. Well, like always, the Lord showed up and moved mightily on the hearts of these young ones. There were many testimonies from this night but we particularly wanted to share Lauren’s with you.  So, without further adieu…..

The last thing I vividly remember is standing in a line and beginning to shake even before I was prayed over. I was honestly expecting to go to heaven last night, but Daddy had a very different, but equally as fulfilling plan. I immediately felt his weighty presence holding me down on the ground, increasing the longer that I stayed there. I remember that while the music was playing in the background, he was illustrating beautiful images before my eyes. The heaviness of his presence quickly intensified into an electric feeling and I was overwhelmed by about ten different emotions at once. I didn’t know whether to cry, laugh, shout, scream, etc. I heard Daddy tell me to open my mouth and praise; to my surprise, (for the first time ever) I began to speak in tongues. I came to the revelation that tongues was the only way to express all of these emotions at once and to relieve the incredible electricity. (He later told me that speaking in tongues was our “love language”). The more I began to speak in tongues, the more glory that fell down and each time I became more undone as soon as I opened my mouth. While I was so overwhelmed and unsure of whether I would ever stop speaking in tongues, I remember thinking that I never wanted to leave this place. Several times I felt a drastic increase in warmth around me, especially when someone would start praying over me again. As I continued to speak, God began to “translate” some of the language I was speaking through verses in the Bible.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:1-3

“My spirit who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 59:21

“The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…” Isaiah 61:1

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.”

Isaiah 62:1

These are just some of the many verses that God is still revealing to me from this special time we had together. I remember other content he revealed to me that involved weighing the things of this world, in comparison to the gifts of heaven; a point that was being perfectly illustrated before my eyes. God was just flooding me with some of the wisdom we tend to “know” but never truly understand. I finally asked God why I was feeling so many extreme emotions and what was truly going on in my spirit. He told me that I was entering his throne room and he was giving me some of the glory that we would all experience in greater proportion one day. After two hours of this, I began laughing uncontrollably for the last half hour. (If you could really call it laughter) I have never “laughed” like that before in my life. It was absolutely insane. I was rolling around, pounding the floor with my hands. I’ve been speaking in tongues throughout the day today at school and at home. I’m happy to say I did manage to speak in both English and French today as well. (Thank you God for making that possible.) Anyway, this concludes my attempt for putting an absolutely amazing night into words. Thank you so much for visiting Mr. and Mrs. Berry; you’re amazing!

P.S. This was the first time I had spoken in tongues. And last night I was actually at a meeting with Will Hart and I spoke in tongues again but this time God was leading me to pray for several people. As I prayed over them in tongues, God would speak to me with a prophecy over their life! It was amazing. I believe that He is going to continue to reveal the many different attributes of the gift of tongues to me.
